Why did Jesus say “I am the way, the truth, and the life”

Wednesday, 16 November 2016

John 14:6 (NKJV) Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life”. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Why did Jesus say that I am the way?

If you observe inside your house there are

many doors to enter in the rooms. Some are easy to open and some are little difficult to open. Generally if you enter the house and nothing is locked then it is not very difficult to go in and out of the rooms.

We need to remember that to enter the house, you need to come in through the main door and everyone does not have the keys for them except the owner. If the owner of the house lets you in, then only can you come in and enjoy all the facilities. Authority is always with the owner or with the one whom the owner chooses to represent on his behalf. Our Father God Almighty has given Jesus total charge over everything on the earth and in heaven.

Mathew 28:18 (NKJV) And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth".

Mathew 28:18 (AMP) Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Jesus is the way and the main door and through Him we directly come into the presence of our almighty Father and to enjoy all the blessings. Once we enter the right way through Jesus by making our salvation prayer, then we are free from all the sins and are seen as righteous in the eyes of our almighty God.

Why did Jesus say that “I am the truth” and no other has said it? Jesus means that everyone may say many things and do many things but there is only one truth. Truth is a comprehensive term that in all of its nuances implies accuracy and honesty and that is what Jesus meant while making that statement. Jesus was telling the truth that no one has ever told because no one knew it ever. Who can tell the truth? Only one, who has seen, heard and experienced it personally and all those who have not, will just be making them up without knowing what actually truth is. We need to understand and believe that Jesus knew His Father and knew the ways to bring us in heaven to have an eternal life with Him. Jesus not only wants all of us in heaven, but also live a heavenly life on earth as long as we live. It will be more easy to understand from the verses below as it is self-explanatory.

John 12:49-50(KJV) For I do not speak of myself, but from the Father who sent me and commanded me what I should say and what I should speak. 50 And I know that [to obey] his command is life everlasting. Therefore, whatever I speak is just as the Father tells me to speak."

Why did Jesus say that “I am the life?”

Who can give us life? We have to always remember to give something one has to own it and only the one who owns can give it as it is their choice. Life is given only by our creator and He has all the keys in His hands. Jesus meant when we accept Him, then only do we get a chance to enjoy life eternally. We need to look below at few of the questions that have always been more important for us as in this world.

  • How can we take care of our family without any anxiety?
  • What will happen to our future, job, studies, work etc.?
  • What do I need to work on to achieve success in life?
  • How will I manage to make money, build house, save money etc?
  • Many other questions relating to life that are relevant?
  • How can I get peace and be at peace always?

We will always be striving for things to satisfy ourselves to be known in the society. We will always be unsecured in regards to many things in life and will not know the real answers to them. John 11:25 (NKJV) Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live

We may know many things but will always be in lack of peace as we strive for success at every point of life. Jesus is called Prince of Peace and can give you what the world can never ever give you. Look in the statement below made by Jesus in Mathew 11:28 - “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

I want to encourage all of you reading this to give your life to Jesus and accept Him as your savior, and you will never be the same.

God Bless You
